The product range is being expanded to include fixed position push-in contact inserts with snap-in latching. This brings Phoenix Contact's assembly and installation process closer to being completely tool-free. The previous task of tightening the contact inserts is replaced by a safe, audible and perceptible locking operation of the connector housing. Tested to the same shock and vibration requirements as threaded mounting inserts, snap-in contact inserts provide a reliable plug-in connection. This assembly solution, combined with push-in connection technology, is easy to handle and saves considerable time. Even PE connections are now abandoning the old threaded connections in favor of push-in connections. As before, users can still take advantage of the additional flexibility of plugging pre-assembled harnesses into the panel mounting base from inside or outside the control cabinet.
