The connector uses the power terminals on both ends of the connector to carry 3 A continuous current, thus supporting the connection of small battery-powered devices. The internal pins of the connector are rated at 300 mA each and are used to transmit signals.The R35K series connectors maintain Panasonic's unique Tough Contact construction, which consists of corrugated contacts for shock and vibration resistance, and a V-groove construction shape that maintains two points of contact between the receptacle and plug pins. The rugged construction and balance of small size and high current capability make the R35K series ideal for lightweight, battery-powered devices such as smart watches, hearing aids, and headphones.
