Amphenol | Amphenol Connectors The Micro-TCA card edge connector is a MicroTCA (μTCA) vertical card edge connector with 170 terminals spaced 0.75 mm apart that enables the AdvancedMC ™ module to be plugged directly into the backplane. Crimp and surface mount technology (SMT) termination options are available. Amphenol ICC connectors are fully compliant with MicroTCA specifications. Crimp-type connectors extend the MicroTCA architecture used to thicker backplanes (proven crimp technology is often preferred). Surface mount connectors support systems with smaller and less complex backplanes, allowing the use of lower cost SMT reflow soldering processes. The ability to mount the connector using conventional crimping or surface packaging techniques, coupled with the design of the connector, eliminates the need for expensive hardware, auxiliary mechanical clamping, or compensatory board stiffeners, thereby reducing overall application costs.
