Meaning of AC component and DC component of eddy current sensor

If a circuit has both AC and DC in it, they can be extracted separately by technical means and are called AC and DC components. For example, the output voltage of an eddy current sensor is proportional to the distance of the metal object being flanked. If both are stationary, there is only a DC voltage output; if one of them moves rapidly back and forth around the center position, there is an AC voltage output in addition to the DC.
