An automotive wiring harness is an electrical component that integrates various wires, cables and connectors to form a relatively independent assembly for connecting various parts of the entire vehicle. Automotive wiring harness is an important part of the vehicle electrical system, which is not only responsible for transmitting power signals, but also protects and manages the vehicle electrical system. In modern automobiles, wiring harnesses are usually composed of a variety of components such as cables, wires and insulated tubes, of which connectors are an important part. The connector is the component that connects the wiring harness to the other parts of the vehicle. Automotive connectors are usually divided into two parts: plugs and sockets. The plug is one part of the connector and is usually attached to the end of the wiring harness. The socket is the other part of the connector and is usually secured to the rest of the vehicle. When the plug is inserted into the socket, electrical signals can be passed through the connector from the wiring harness to other parts of the vehicle. Therefore, plugging is one of the key aspects of the automotive wiring harness manufacturing process. Here are the general steps involved in plugging in an automotive wiring harness: making the wiring harness Before plugging in, the wiring harness needs to be made. Wiring harnesses are usually produced together during the vehicle manufacturing process, but they also need to be made separately when performing repairs and replacements. Stripping the Insulation from the End of the Wiring Harness Before plugging in, the insulation at the end of the harness needs to be stripped to expose the metal portion of the wires. Generally, a certain length of insulation should be left so that the insulation can be placed over the metal portion of the wire again after plugging. Installing the Terminal After the wire has been exposed, the terminal needs to be installed. A terminal is a metal component, usually made of materials such as copper or aluminum, that holds the wire to the connector. Before installing the terminals, some insulating sleeving needs to be placed over the end of the wire in order to isolate the terminals from the wire. Soldering the terminals After the terminals are installed, the terminals need to be soldered to the wires. Soldering allows a reliable electrical connection to be formed between the terminal and the wire, thus ensuring that electrical signals can be transmitted stably. Before soldering, it is necessary to apply some solder between the terminal and the wire so that it is easier to form a good connection when soldering. Insulation TreatmentAfter the terminals are soldered, the connection needs to be insulated to prevent leakage or damage to the electrical signals.
