The main function of the high voltage connector is to automatically connect the 25kV high voltage circuits on the roofs of the two locomotives when they are connected. The cross-joint mounting consists of a cross-joint and a shaft sleeve. The cross joint 1 is fixedly connected to the shaft sleeve 2 by means of three countersunk head screws 3. The up and down swing control of the head of the high pressure connector is balanced by a leaf spring and a coil spring. The leaf spring is screwed to the swivel plate, and then the left and right crosshead bearing bodies are secured to the inside of the swivel plate with three screws to support the mounting of the crosshead connector. The coil springs are wound by spring steel bands which are placed over the ends of the crosshead mounting cross shafts and then mounted inside the left and right crosshead bearing bodies. At rest, the force of the leaf spring and the gravity of the head form a moment equal to the moment of the coil spring, thus keeping the conductive rod level. When the head oscillates up and down due to an external force, static equilibrium is restored due to the action of the coil spring and the leaf spring. Since the tension of the coil spring can be adjusted by the adjusting screw, it is easy to bring the conductive rod to a horizontal state when the high voltage connector is stationary. In addition, when docking locomotives with different tire wear conditions, the mounting height of the high-voltage connector can be adjusted in advance so that the front and rear high-voltage connectors are basically on the same level.
