This can result in cost savings by reducing production downtime. Simply pull the cable and the MAGNA-PLUG connector automatically disconnects. No more damaged cables and sensors. These connectors are not damaged by cable breakage interruptions, making them suitable for food shelves or moving around manufacturing equipment that use connectors to connect temperature probes.The MAGNA-PLUG utilizes self-mating and bonding for self-alignment, so reverse connections should be avoided as the internal magnets force the connectors to connect to the same pins each time.The MAGNA-PLUG is available with circular male connectors, MAGNA-PLUG is available as a circular male connector, a circular female connector, and a female connector variant for panel mounting.The body of the MAGNA-PLUG is made of FDA-compliant, food-grade Teflon. The male and female connectors are equipped with 316 stainless steel (SS) rings for added rigidity. The connector has six gold-plated PoGo pins (spring loaded) that accommodate conductors up to 18 AWG caliber. Each connector has a pair of cylindrical half-bar samarium cobalt (SmCo) magnets, each with five pounds of holding force, which provide 10 pounds of reluctance when coupled, enough to withstand armored or shielded cables without breaking the connection. These unique industrial components are IP67/NEMA 6 dust- and water-resistant to withstand harsh environments.The MAGNA-PLUG operates on low-voltage signals up to 48 VDC, with control signals ranging from 4 mA to 20 mA at 1.5 A, and accommodates contacts up to 18 AWG. Each connector weighs 70 grams and has a cable sealing sleeve to accommodate cable sizes from 3.3 mm to 6.5 mm. The connectors have an operating temperature range of -40°C to +150°C and a 5,000-cycle mating life to ensure excellent connectivity.
