These connectors meet the stringent requirements of MIL-C-83522.AFSI connectors are designed to provide improved optical performance in harsh environmental condition applications.The M83522 connectors have a higher spring force than commercial ST connectors, allowing them to meet the shock and vibration requirements of MIL-C-83522. Stainless steel construction provides excellent mechanical strength and superior corrosion resistance. Sheaths can be attached via compression rings or threaded adapters. The U.S. Navy-approved Commercial Finished (COTS) ST connector offers the same robustness as commercial ST connectors as well as a more consistent spring-loaded force.The COTS product is designed for use in shock-isolated environments or for connecting commercial electronics to non-military specification ST adapters. It is also suitable for applications requiring corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.
