They provide a secure mechanical connection with a clicking sound when mated in place, multiple mechanical keylocking options to avoid cross-mating, seven color options, and standard and reverse male and female configurations. The polyetherimide (PEI) housing material withstands steam sterilization and common sterilization methods required for multiple uses. Disposable options are available for electrophysiology (EP) catheters. They can integrate an EEPROM directly into the connector to store serialization, cycle counting, and device parameter setting information. Disposable sockets can be snapped directly into the customer's handpiece to minimize assembly costs, or cables can be connected through an optional backshell. Machined brass and bronze electrical contacts provide highly reliable and repeatable performance and are gold plated over hard nickel. Solder, crimp, or printed circuit board (PCB) contacts are available for better application fit and are rated for a minimum of 2,000 insertions and withdrawals. Options for greater creepage and clearance distances are available for RF ablation and pulsed field ablation (PFA) applications. Combining two or more different contact elements into a single connector simplifies the operation of the device. Contact elements such as low voltage, high voltage, fiber optic, thermocouple, coaxial, and even pneumatic or fluid components with or without shutoffs can be customized to meet specific requirements. Durable, lightweight plastic housings reduce weight and have been used in critical wearable medical applications such as left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) and wearable defibrillators. Most connector models are UL and CSA recognized under LEMO's UL File Number E119802, which contributes to overall system approval, and are RoHS and REACH compliant.LEMO is ISO 90001 and 13485 certified.
