molex introduces DuraClik 2.00 pitch wire-to-board connector

Molex Incorporated has introduced a vertical version of its DuraClik 2.00mm pitch wire-to-board connector. The new vertical DuraClik connector design will be used for on-board automotive instrumentation including gearshifts, steering wheels, wiper/flash levers, headlights, air conditioners and inverters, as well as for e-bikes, trucks, overweights, factory automation equipment and other high vibration applications.

DuraClik connectors exceed automotive industry specifications for resilient connector systems used in high vibration conditions, and the vibration-resistant design and internal self-locking mechanism provide space savings and PCB retention for reliable splicing and mating in harsh automotive environments.The Molex DuraClik family of connectors includes both right-angle and vertical configurations that are now available to meet varying space constraints and harness installation requirements. space constraints and harness mounting needs. These connectors are specifically designed to improve harness installation in automotive applications with space constraints. The closed contact design protects against dust and damage, and the internal self-locking mechanism ensures secure mating while preventing latch breakage due to wire entanglement.DuraClik connectors are designed to meet the requirements of automotive compartments with operating temperatures up to +105 degrees Celsius, where a clicking sound is heard to determine secure mating of the connector. Available in both right-angle and vertical configurations, DuraClik 2.00 mm pitch wire-to-board connectors feature a vibration-resistant SMT design with wide solder pads. In automotive vibration-proofing tests, the DuraClik connectors withstood an upward pivoting force of 100N (10 kgf) for reliable PCB retention in high-vibration applications.
