Take silicon nitride as an example. Adding sintering additives such as magnesium oxide and applying a pressure of 300 kg /cm2 at 1700°C can densify the silicon nitride powder. In this case, a layer of boron nitride is coated in the graphite mold to prevent the reaction and to facilitate mold release because the silicon nitride reacts with the graphite mold to form silicon carbide on its surface. When using this mold release agent, care should always be taken under hot pressure.
