The power input combination provides IP54 rated protection when the power supply is connected during equipment operation, and IP67 rated protection between the connector and the equipment. Ingress protection from particles and liquids is becoming increasingly important, especially in the highly regulated medical field. Locking power cords are often used in this field to ensure continuous operation of equipment. The SCHURTER 6080 series with V-Lock power cord is the ideal solution, combining the IEC 60320 connector with IEC 60529 ingress protection, the blue latch of the V-Lock power cord and the blue inlay of the electrical socket indicate that both are equipped with a unique sealing mechanism. Mating the two allows for higher Ingress Protection (IP) ratings, up to IP54 under load and IP67 on equipment. 6080 series connectors with V-Lock power cords are rated at 10 A at 250 VAC and 50 Hz (per IEC and CCC). Current ratings up to 15 A at 250 VAC and 60 Hz (per UL). Operating temperatures range from -25°C to 70°C. 6080 series connectors are available in C14 PC1 or C18 PCII in black or white. v-Lock power cords are available in three lengths: 2 m, 3 m, or 5 m, with a range of country-specific plugs. Unplugged and stripped versions are available for customization. A PCII version will be available soon.
