Amphenol | Amphenol Connector Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) IP20 connector is a new generation of industrial Ethernet connector conforming to IEC63171-6 standard. The industrial single pair Ethernet (SPE) connector can directly connect Ethernet to peripheral devices such as sensors, actuators and vision system cameras. Its transmission speed can reach 1 Gb/s. SPE creates a simplified and standardized platform for existing and new industrial network systems, eliminating complex, slow and expensive fieldbus protocols and connections. Rugged right-angle and vertical PCB-mount SPE receptacles work with field-pluggable plugs to provide a fully shielded interface with metal latching. The current carrying capacity is up to 4A and supports PoDL (Power over Data Link) for up to 1 km. Fully compatible with other licensees' IEC 63171 -6 interconnects for future compatibility and investment assurance, lower cost, lighter weight, and smaller footprint than 2-DP and 4-DP cables, and superior performance in harsh environments thanks to a mechanically robust, fully shielded, 360-degree safety latch. The IDC plug can be terminated in the field, providing installation flexibility, and the SPE does not require an expensive protocol translation gateway.
