Extra Large HEAVYCON Enclosures Phoenix Contact's HEAVYCON enclosures provide more cabling space for larger cable diameters and harnesses With the increasing popularity of Phoenix Contact's HEAVYCON modular blade systems and high-density fixed blades, there is a corresponding increase in the demand for available space within the HEAVYCON enclosure. Now, the standard (STA) aluminum enclosure's plug and surface-mount base versions are taller, giving plenty of room for even the most challenging wiring tasks. Although a taller housing may allow more wires to be terminated inside the housing, there remains a problem of how to introduce all of these wires into the housing first. The solution to this problem is to use an M50 threaded cable entry. Previously M50 inlets were only available for B32 and B48 housings, but now, they are also available for B16 and B24 plug housings. For surface mount (also known as boxed) pedestals, higher versions of pedestals are supplied for all parts from the B06 to the B24 enclosure. These inlets were previously limited to maximum M32 gauge, now they can accept threaded adapters and cable glands up to M40. Therefore, whether a higher density solution is achieved using modular inserts or fixed inserts, taller enclosures with oversized cable entrances can be connected to the user's cabinet with the help of the Phoenix Contact solution.
