The M.2 connector is a standard connector interface, originally known as NGFF (Next Generation Form Factor), which is a protocol published by the PCI-SIG Association. The standard name is PCI Express M.2 Specification PCI Express (PCIe) M.2 connector occupies less on-board space, provides more connector height options and supports higher data rates. It is also ideal for tablets, laptops, WiFi, Bluetooth, GNSS, Near Field Communications, Hybrid Digital Radio, WiGig, wireless WAN and solid-state storage devices and narrow-board memory/server applications.
