Connectors can be seen everywhere in today's real life, such as the most common mobile phone sockets, computer USB connectors, various power connectors, etc. However, I believe many people are not clear about the detailed structure of connectors. For example, electrical connectors are composed of fixed-end electrical connectors (sockets) and free-end electrical connectors (plugs). The socket is fixed on the electrical components through its square (round) plate (some are welded). The plug is generally connected to the cable, and the plug and socket are connected by connecting nuts.

1. contacts of the connector Connector contacts (contacts) are the core parts of the connector to complete the electrical connection function. Generally, a contact pair is composed of a male contact and a female contact, and the electrical connection is completed by inserting the female and male contacts. 1. The male contact part is a rigid part, and its shape is cylindrical (round pin), square cylindrical (square pin) or flat (insert). The male contacts are generally made of brass and phosphor bronze. 2. The female contact, that is, the socket, is the key part of the contact pair. It relies on the elastic structure to deform elastically when it is inserted into the pin to generate elastic force to form close contact with the male contact to complete the connection. There are many types of jack structures, including cylindrical type (splitting groove, shrinking notch), tuning fork type, cantilever beam type (longitudinal slotting), folding type (longitudinal slotting, figure 9 shape), box-shaped (square jack) and hyperboloid wire spring jack, etc. 2. Insulator of connector Connector insulator is also often called base or mounting plate (insert). Its function is to arrange the contacts at the required position and spacing, and to ensure the insulation performance between the contacts and between the contacts and the shell. Good insulation resistance, voltage withstand performance and easy processability are the basic requirements for selecting insulating materials to be processed into insulators. There are many types of insulator materials, such as pa6t, LCP and so on. 3. Housing of the Connector The connector housing, also known as the shell, is the outer cover of the connector. It provides mechanical protection for the built-in insulating mounting plate and pins, and provides the alignment of the plug and socket when they are plugged in, thereby fixing the connector to the device. The shell is generally made of aluminum alloy processing (machining, cold extrusion, die-casting), and the steel shell is mostly used for glass sealing welding and high-temperature resistant electrical connectors. IV. Accessories of connectors Connector accessories are divided into structural accessories and installation accessories. Structural accessories such as clamping rings, positioning keys, positioning pins, guide pins, connecting rings, cable clamps, sealing rings, gaskets, etc. Installation accessories such as screws, nuts, screws, spring coils, etc. Most accessories have standard parts and general parts.
