As laptops, tablets, folding devices, high-speed display devices, industrial vision, and AI terminals continue to develop towards thinness and high integration, the space inside the devices for wiring harnesses becomes increasingly limited. Engineers, in the process of structural design, must not only consider the size of the connectors themselves but also simultaneously consider the cable outer diameter, bending paths, pivot spaces, and high-speed signal transmission requirements. The I-PEX CABLINE®-SS with a 0.4mm Contact Pitch and Vertical Right Angle structure, combined with a height of approximately 1.65±0.2mm and a depth of approximately 3mm, and featuring a horizontal outlet design, has also been shown by the manufacturer to allow its wiring harness to pass through small pivots, thus making such ultra-thin coaxial harnesses increasingly valued by engineers. For devices that require the arrangement of multiple high-speed signals in limited spaces, the size of the wiring harness is no longer just a "connection issue," but directly affects the overall structural layout of the entire machine.

Modern equipment interiors are characterized by continuously increasing signal rates for displays, cameras, data transmission, and more. The harnesses must be sufficiently slender while also considering impedance, crosstalk, signal loss, and connection reliability. CABLINE®-SS is officially positioned to cover high-speed applications up to 16Gbps/Lane. Its publicly tested conditions include 40Pin, Micro-Coaxial Cable, AWG#40, 45Ω, 100mm, and GSSGSSG Pin Assignment. At the same time, the official technical specifications list the transmission speed as 5Gbps/lane NRZ "Reference Only" and provide V-by-One US, HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Gen2, eDP, and other relevant standards as references. Therefore, actual projects should still be confirmed based on specific cable length, cable structure, Pin Assignment, and system SI test results. For engineers, the significance of choosing extremely thin coaxial harnesses lies in achieving high-density wiring in limited spaces while providing a clearer transmission path for high-speed differential signals. For purchasers, it is necessary to pay attention to whether suppliers can stably replicate the original connector, cable diameter, length, and wire sequence requirements, and not just "similar in appearance dimensions."

This product material number for the corresponding ultra-fine coaxial cable assembly is I-PEX 82892-100B-02-D, and the I-PEX official CABLINE®-SS page lists it as a 50Pin Micro-Coaxial 40AWG cable assembly, with a length of 300mm and Pin Assignment of 1-N; the same series 50Pin also includes 82891-100B-02-D (100mm, 1-N) and 82444-100B-02-D (200mm, 1-N). The cable end connector model used in this solution is 20373-R50T-06, which belongs to the CABLINE®-SS 50Pin Plug Housing; the official also lists the 50Pin Plug Cable Assembly as 20380-R50T-16 and the Receptacle as 20374-R50E-31. For engineers, it is important to confirm that the 50Pin, 0.4mm Pitch, AWG#40, 300mm length, 1-N wire sequence, and actual installation space are consistent when selecting; for purchasers, these parameters are also an important basis for judging whether different suppliers' quotes, samples, and substitutes truly correspond to the same specification.

If the project originally used I-PEX 82892-100B-02-D, when selecting alternative harnesses, it is not recommended to simply purchase based on "50Pin harness," but to also check the connector model, wire AWG, wire length, Pin Assignment, and actual assembly direction. The corresponding wire end connector for this model is 20373-R50T-06, which is compatible with wire specifications of AWG#40. At the same time, special attention should be paid to the fact that the official page of CABLINE®-SS lists Micro-Coaxial specifications such as AWG36, AWG38, AWG40, and AWG42, but there is a mismatch warning for characteristic impedance of AWG42. Therefore, when developing alternatives, it cannot be simply achieved through changing AWG to reduce costs or reduce wire diameter, but should be verified in combination with high-speed signal requirements. For projects that require domestic alternatives, second suppliers, or bulk purchases, our company can provide: I-PEX 82892-100B-02-D compatible alternative harness solutions, which can be prototyped and matched with specifications around key conditions such as 50Pin, 20373-R50T-06, AWG#40, 300mm, and 1-N, and adjusted specifically according to the actual installation space, wire sequence, and signal requirements of the customer's equipment.
