Taking I-PEX CABLINE®-SS as an example, this series offers specifications such as 10, 14, 20, 30, 32, 35, 40, and 50 Pins, all using a 0.4mm Contact Pitch and belonging to the Vertical Right Angle structure, with a Mated Height of 1.65±0.2mm. As the Pin number increases, the lateral size of the connector also changes accordingly. The official calculation relationship for Width is 5.8+(0.4×Pin number)mm. Therefore, when engineers are laying out the mainboard, display module, or pivot area, they cannot simply confirm "whether it can be inserted," but also need to check the connector width corresponding to the Pin number, PCB pad layout, and actual installation space.

The corresponding ultra-fine coaxial cable assembly model is I-PEX 82968-100B-02-D, which belongs to the CABLINE®-SS 35Pin Micro-Coaxial Harness, using AWG#40 ultra-fine coaxial wire, 100mm in length, with wire position defined as 1-N; the connector model used at the wire end is 20373-R35T-06. From the perspective of electrical design, an increase in the number of pins means that the system can be configured with more signal channels, but it does not necessarily mean that the high-speed performance of the entire harness will simply improve in line with the increase in the number of pins. CABLINE®-SS supports specifications such as Micro-Coaxial AWG36, AWG38, AWG40, and AWG42, among which the current rating of AWG40 will vary with the contact quantity conditions; official documentation also provides different current conditions for different pin numbers and wire diameters. Therefore, when designing harnesses for high-speed displays, cameras, industrial equipment, and other applications, it is necessary to consider the number of pins, wire diameter, impedance, signal distribution, and power channels simultaneously, rather than simply pursuing more pins. For the 82968-100B-02-D, its 35 pins, AWG#40, 100mm, and 1-N are fixed configurations. If the replacement product changes the number of pins or the wire sequence, it is necessary to recheck the signal mapping and overall system compatibility.
